If you’ve ever wondered how 1Let stays organised, on-track, and impressively calm even on the busiest days, chances are Tahlia has something to do with it. Tahlia moved from Australia to Edinburgh in 2018, and since joining 1Let she’s become an essential part of the team - bringing sharp admin skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and a warm, funny, down-to-earth presence that everyone loves having around.

One of the first things you notice about Tahlia is how naturally she fits into 1Let’s team culture. Her favourite thing about working here is the people - the support, the camaraderie, and the fact that everyone can be a little goofy when the moment calls for it. She’s at the heart of many memorable office moments, including the day we learned George was joining the team and a spontaneous “Horsman, Horsman, Horsman” chant erupted. She fits right in.

When things get especially busy, Tahlia enters what can only be described as admin beast mode: headphones in, hard trance on, and total focus. It's an impressive sight, and the efficiency speaks for itself.

Despite being from Australia, what she misses most about home isn’t the weather - “it was way too hot!” - but the food. Things like particular snacks and Grill’d’s famous Summer Sunset burger with charred pineapple are high on the nostalgia list. Scotland may have many charms, but it does not, sadly, have Grill’d.

Outside of work, Tahlia is endlessly creative. She’s currently deep into knitting a green sparkly shawl for the Christmas party - a large project that tests her patience but will no doubt be worth it. Her proudest creation so far is a bright yellow cardigan, a labour of love she still treasures.

She’s also a massive film fan, especially on relaxed Sunday afternoons. Her go-to comfort films include Addams Family Values, George of the Jungle, and Zombieland - perfect choices for a cosy, low-effort day. And speaking of Sundays, her ideal one involves a crisp, bright Edinburgh morning, a peaceful stroll around the Shore, and an afternoon wrapped up in movies and comfort.

Music is a big part of her life too. She’s eagerly awaiting a chance to finally see Florence & the Machine next summer after missing out in 2022 - something she’s been looking forward to since first seeing Florence at a festival in 2019.

In true finance-admin fashion, she’s also decided that if she were a spreadsheet function, she’d be VLOOKUP - slightly confusing and occasionally frustrating for beginners, but once you understand it, absolutely indispensable. The comparison feels wonderfully accurate.

And if 1Let ever made a movie about office life? Tahlia insisted we choose who would play her - and honestly, with her mix of warmth, wit, and understated talent, we’d cast someone effortlessly charming and quietly hilarious… think Emma Stone with a pair of knitting needles.

Tahlia brings heart, humour, skill, and a quietly brilliant energy to 1Let. We’re incredibly lucky to have her - VLOOKUP, trance playlists, yellow cardigans and all.
