This spring, we welcomed Abby to 1Let – and in just a few short months, she’s already made a big impact. Originally joining us in March 2025 as a Property Assistant, Abby is now seamlessly transitioning into the role of Portfolio Manager, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see her grow within the team.
Abby brings a fresh perspective to property management, having previously worked as a primary school teacher in Aberdeen. With a natural flair for communication, quick problem-solving, and thriving in ever-changing environments, she’s already shown that her classroom skills translate brilliantly into life as a letting agent. As Abby puts it, “Every day is completely different from the next – and nothing is unexpected. This is the same in property management, and I’m excited to come up with innovative solutions to problems.”
When asked what first attracted her to the role, she says:
“I was excited to be given the opportunity to run around Edinburgh and meet lots of new people in different environments.”
And that’s exactly what she’s done. Whether she’s checking on properties, supporting tenants and landlords, or learning the ins and outs of lock types (ask her about the difference between a mortice and a Yale lock!), Abby brings energy, curiosity, and warmth to everything she does.
The Edinburgh Adventure Begins
Having recently relocated to Edinburgh, Abby is still exploring the city – and loving every minute of it. She describes her perfect day as “lively, collaborative, and productive,” which fits right in with the fast-paced rhythm of the 1Let team.
Outside of work, Abby is passionate about architecture, history, and tacos. She’s happiest wandering the streets and “looking at old things” – especially if it involves passing the Castle. With the Fringe Festival just around the corner, she’s excited to be living in the heart of the action. Her favourite restaurant picks so far? Cabo and Paloma – both top taco spots!
Oh, and if you’re a cat person, you’ll want Abby on your side – she claims to be a “cat whisperer” and insists she can befriend any feline. (We believe her.)

Looking Ahead
As Abby moves into her new role as Portfolio Manager, she’s focused on mastering her organisation and time management skills to ensure a smooth, supportive service for tenants and landlords alike.
