This week, our team had the joy of celebrating a milestone that means a great deal to all of us at 1Let: Beata’s 10-year anniversary with the company.
Anyone who has worked with Beata knows that she is far more than her job title. She is the calm in the chaos, the champion in our corner, and the steady, guiding presence at the centre of our team.
A Decade of Growth, Dedication, and Leadership
When Beata joined 1Let back in November 2015 as a Property Manager, she brought with her nearly a decade of experience in Glasgow and Edinburgh’s letting industry. Her depth of knowledge and natural leadership shone from day one.
Just two years later, she became a fully qualified ARLA member before rising through the ranks - first to Lettings Manager in 2017, then to Operations Director in October 2020.
But what truly sets Beata apart isn’t her impressive progression. It’s how she leads.
A Leader Who Listens, Guides, and Lifts Others Up
Across the team, past and present, the same themes come up again and again when people talk about Beata: kindness, compassion, strength, humour, and a genuine commitment to seeing others thrive.
Katharine, our Compliance Manager, summed up what many of us feel:
“Beata always shows kindness and compassion to all her colleagues and is always willing to help out.”
Her leadership style has shaped the culture of 1Let - steady, thoughtful, and people-first.
Tina, our Lettings Manager, shared how Beata inspires her daily:
“She approaches the toughest of challenges with such eagerness and that is truly inspiring… She really empowers each of us to do our best work and works to each person’s strengths and talents. Beata is the backbone of 1Let.”
That sentiment - Beata as the backbone - is echoed time and again. Whether she’s tackling a complex issue or helping a colleague find their confidence, she leads with intention and heart.
Even her humour and warmth have become part of the fabric of daily life at 1Let. As Caitlin, one of our former portfolio managers, put it:
“What impresses me most about Beata is that she’s totally unflappable – she never panics! Plus, she’s got the most infectious laugh!”
Moments That Capture Who She Really Is
Sometimes, the best way to understand someone’s impact is through the stories people tell about them.
One that Zefron, our Lettings Negotiator, will never forget sees Beata saving the day. He recalls heading out for a viewing during a hectic Christmas period, only to realise - at the worst possible moment - that he had brought the wrong keys. With twelve people waiting outside and panic rising, there was only one person he knew would help:
Beata.
Without hesitation, she locked up the office, grabbed the correct keys, and drove across town to rescue him.
Zefron remembers her arrival as “cinematic,” describing her stepping out of the car, keys in hand, while he stood surrounded by viewers and wishing the ground would swallow him.
But not all of the stories are dramatic rescues - many of them are small, joyful moments that capture her warmth and humour.
Sarah, one of our Portfolio Managers, shared a favourite memory that still makes her smile:
“A memory of mine is when I brought German chocolate slices into the office to put on bread. Beata absolutely loved it and went back for seconds. She must have loved it so much that she mentioned last week (about 6 months later!) that I should bring them in again so she can make a toastie with them – something even I haven’t been brave enough to try yet!
She is also always great for a laugh and finds people (especially me) way funnier than we sometimes deserve. I love making B laugh!”
These everyday moments - laughter, shared snacks, genuine connection - are as defining as the big ones.
An Influence That Lasts Long After People Move On
Beata’s impact isn’t confined to current staff - it stretches to those who have worked with her over the years, many of whom still consider her a mentor and friend long after moving on.
Alan, who joined the team in 2017, remembers not only how knowledgeable and supportive Beata was, but also how much fun she made the day-to-day:
“I started working with Beata back in 2017. She was a massive help then, not just with lettings but in teaching me Polish. She was very patient as I seemingly said Goodbye every time someone sneezed. She was a brilliant colleague for four years but has been a treasured friend for nine. Congratulations to her on ten years at 1Let. They’re lucky to have her!”
Kim, another former colleague, spoke about the depth of Beata’s influence:
“Beata's positive influence and guiding nature helped me achieve so much… She is personable, funny, loyal and deserves all the praise bestowed upon her. Even though I’ve left property management, she remains one of my amazing friends.”
Rebecca, who worked closely with Beata after relocating from Glasgow to Edinburgh, shared how much she relied on her during challenging times:
“You are the rock of the company. You somehow always have time for everyone despite being so busy… Within your 10 years in the company, you have touched many hearts – and boilers!”
And of course, no celebration would be complete without this iconic detail from the team:
“Fun fact about Beata: she doesn’t own a single jumper!”

Her laugh fills the office.
