Safety Alert - IKEA furniture hazard (and furniture generally)

Hazard: IKEA chests and dressers are unstable if they are not properly anchored to the wall, posing a serious tip-over and entrapment hazard that can result in death or injuries to children.

A tragedy involving a child has highlinghted the need for further safety in relation to furniture.

1Let advice to all landlords and tenants is to make sure that ALL high or large items of furniture are firmly secured to the wall if their design or position is such that there is a reasonable risk of falling over, and to be expecially careful when children are present.
