We are deligted to be registered and approved as Scottish based Letting Agents and have now received our letting agent registration number from the Scottish Government.
Our Letting Agent Registration Number is: LARN1806013.
All letting agents in Scotland must be listed on the Scottish Letting Agent Register administered by the Scottish Government before 1st October 2018. If you are not listed on the register it will be a criminal offence to carry out property management and letting agency work after this date.
As members of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) 1LET already had everything required by the Scottish Government in place. Key requirements are:
- fully qualified and trained staff in key positions
- approved banking processes
- appropriate insurances
- operating in line with the new "Letting Agent Code of Practice"
The Letting Agent Code of Practice is a set of rules that all letting agents must follow to make sure they give a good service to landlords and tenants.
The Code explains the minimum standards a letting agent must meet when:
- dealing with landlords
- marketing and advertising a property
- managing a rented property
- collecting rent
- handling repairs
- ending a tenancy
