GDPR Update

GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) will replace the Data Protection Act (1998) and gives more rights to you as an individual and more obligations to organisations holding your personal data.

One of the rights is a right to be informed, which means we have to give you even more information than we do now about the way in which we use, share and store your personal information.

As we approach the GDPR which takes effect from 25th May 2018, the regulation requires letting agents to look at their privacy policy, and the day-to-day practicalities of how they process and store personal data. It also requires letting agents to consider the contractual relationships they have with third party organisations, such as maintenance contractors.

1LET are currently reviewing existing policies and procedures to ensure full compliance and best practice and will soon update landlords and tenants, as well as anyone on our mailing list, with any relevant updates or changes.

In the meantime should you have any questions or queries please feel free to contact Rachelle Aitchison by emailing rachelle@1let.com or phoning 0131 476 5500.
